BRONX APARTMENT FIRE




A devastating five-alarm fire broke out at a Bronx apartment building early on the morning of January 10, 2025, leaving seven people injured, including five firefighters. The fire was reported at around 1:40 a.m. at 2910 Wallace Avenue. Heavy wind conditions were noted to have escalated the fire to five alarms within an hour, highlighting the severity of the blaze. Nearly 200 firefighters responded to the scene to battle the flames. The injuries reported were not life-threatening, with one civilian choosing treatment at the scene and declining hospital transport. The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents, and temporary shelters have been established to accommodate those affected. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
