Through his business ventures, Jay-Z has become the first hip-hop billionaire. In 1999, he founded the clothing retailer Rocawear, and in 2003, he founded the luxury sports bar chain 40/40 Club. Both businesses have grown to become multi-million-dollar corporations, and allowed him to start up Roc Nation in 2008 .He has also invested in Uber, JetSmarter, Julep, and Away, at roughly the same time, with a dedicated $2 million sunk into Uber alone. According to BizJournals, Uber is currently valued at more than $66 billion and Jay-Z's stake is estimated to be worth more than $70 million.
