In a harrowing event that unfolded in the quiet corridors of the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee, Florida, a celebration turned into a nightmare when a pregnant woman was brutally attacked over a tip dispute.
The incident took place when Brianna Alvelo, a 22-year-old pizza delivery driver from Marco's Pizza, returned to the motel room after delivering a pizza. What should have been a routine delivery quickly escalated into violence when Alvelo, dissatisfied with the $2 tip she received, confronted the room's occupants.
According to reports, the victim, who was celebrating her birthday with her boyfriend and young daughter, was stabbed 14 times with a pocket knife. The assailant, identified as Alvelo, attacked the woman in front of her family, leaving her with severe injuries including a ruptured lung. Following the attack, emergency surgery revealed that the victim was a few weeks pregnant.
Alvelo has been charged with a slew of serious offenses including attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, kidnapping, and aggravated assault. She is currently detained without bond.
The situation was further complicated by the presence of an unnamed male accomplice, who was reportedly armed with a firearm during the invasion. This individual remains at large, with the Osceola County Sheriff's Office urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in his capture.
This incident raises significant questions about safety, the pressures on service industry workers, and the escalation of violence over seemingly minor issues. It's a stark reminder of how quickly situations can turn dangerous and the importance of community vigilance and support for law enforcement in apprehending those who threaten public safety.
As the investigation continues, the community seeks answers and justice for this senseless act of violence. The victim's condition remains a concern, with hopes for her recovery and that of her unborn child.
If you have any information regarding the accomplice, please contact the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
